Overview

Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (SIGS) is a public graduate education institution jointly established by Tsinghua University and the Shenzhen Municipal Government against the backdrop of national efforts to deepen higher education reform and promote the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Tsinghua SIGS has set up academic disciplines that promote interdisciplinary research and learning, including Materials Science, Data Science & Information Technology, Biopharmaceutical & Health Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Future Human Habitats, Environment & Ecology and Innovation Management. These efforts position our school as an incubator for future educational reforms. Oriented to scientific and technological frontiers, our students are ready to become future innovation leaders who will initiate pilot schemes and tackle real-world challenges.

Financial Aids

The scholarships will be granted on both merit and need basis.

• Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS) - The Full CGS usually covers tuition, stipend, on-campus accommodation (or accommodation subsidy), and medical insurance. Annual Review is strictly required for all CGS holders.

• Tuition Scholarship - Covers full or partial tuition fee with a duration of one academic year. Applicants may apply for Tuition Scholarships annually (competitive).

• SIGS Excellence Scholarship - Applications from full-time international new students admitted to our institute will be ranked and selected based on their previous academic achievements, research outcomes, and overall performance. The specific amount of the scholarship will be tiered and distributed according to the results of the annual selection process.

Living allowance

• All students are eligible: 3,810 RMB/ month for doctoral students and 600 RMB/ month for master's students.

Assistantship

• Outstanding students will be considered for Teaching Assistants and Research Assistants positions.
