Overview
Launched in March of 2019, Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (SIGS) is a further expansion and integration of the Tsinghua Graduate School at Shenzhen (established in 2001) and the Tsinghua-Berkeley Shenzhen Institute (established in 2015).
As Tsinghua University‘s sole campus located outside of Beijing, SIGS serves as a research and graduate education institution of Tsinghua University located in southern China. Building upon Tsinghua’s academic legacy and Shenzhen’s innovative resources, our students and faculty are dedicated to tackling global challenges through cutting-edge research and collaboration.

Financial Aid
The scholarships will be granted on both merit and need basis.
n Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS) - The Full CGS usually covers tuition, stipend, on-campus accommodation (or accommodation subsidy), and medical insurance. The Partial CGS includes one or a few items in the Full CGS. Annual Review is strictly required for all CGS holders.
n Tuition Scholarship - For example, the Beijing Government Scholarship for International Students, covers full or partial tuition fee with a duration of one academic year. Applicants may apply for Tuition Scholarships annually (competitive).
n SIGS Outstanding Scholarship - Applications from full-time international new students admitted to our institute will be ranked and selected based on their previous academic achievements, research outcomes, and overall performance. The specific amount of the scholarship will be tiered and distributed according to the results of the annual selection process.
Living allowance - SIGS provides living allowance for all the students - 1000 RMB/month for doctor students and 600 RMB/month for master’s students.
Assistantship - SIGS also offers different assistantship for outstanding students: teaching assistant and research assistant.
Summer School
Global Summer School (short as GSS) is an annual event organized by Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School. Tsinghua SIGS welcomes visiting students from around the world to enroll in this 2-week program. Students will have the opportunities to attend lectures delivered by acclaimed Tsinghua faculty, get to know better about the academic disciplinaries, explore Shenzhen - the 'Chinese Silicon Valley' and experience how the forefront of tech innovation integrates with traditional culture.
In 2024 summer, we welcomed 110 participants from 63 universities across 34 countries participated. During the ten-day program, students participated in lectures, workshops, company visits, and cultural experiences, guided by experts and scholars.
