Overview

Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (Tsinghua SIGS) aims to bring together world-class faculty and students, tackle global challenges through cutting-edge research and international collaboration, and nurture the next generation of global leaders.

Tsinghua SIGS was launched in March of 2019. It is a further expansion of the Tsinghua Graduate School at Shenzhen (GSST) and the Tsinghua-Berkeley Shenzhen Institute (TBSI).

Tsinghua-Berkeley Shenzhen Institute (TBSI) is jointly established by Tsinghua University and University of California, Berkeley under the support of the Shenzhen Municipal Government. It is committed to exploring the cultivation mode in university-government-enterprise tripartite cooperation with the concept of interdisciplinary, internationalization and industrial partnership. With integration of university, government and industry resources, training global technology leaders and future entrepreneurs, TBSI aimed to solve regional and global major issues of engineering and scientific research to provide high-quality talent.

Mission & Vision

As it pursues its mission of promoting social and economic development at the local, regional and global levels, Tsinghua SIGS will create an academic and research environment that is International, Borderless and Entrepreneurial.

TBSI’s mission is to establish an ecosystem for transformational technology research addressing global challenges in data science and information technology, to build trans-disciplinary innovative research platforms and graduate curricula and to foster future entrepreneurs and leaders in science and technology.

Features

International: By diversifying the faculty and student bodies, engaging in high-level collaboration with overseas partners, and internationalizing campus resources, Tsinghua SIGS will cultivate students' global competencies.

Borderless: By removing barriers between academic disciplines, between academe and industry, and between the campus and the surrounding community, Tsinghua SIGS will openly share resources and expertise to facilitate interdisciplinary solutions to modern challenges.

Entrepreneurial: By refocusing its educational philosophy, reexamining its pedagogical methods, and restructuring its administrative and management support systems, Tsinghua SIGS will increase institutional efficiency and flexibility while providing innovative degree programming that meets industry needs.
