Overview
Tsinghua University Vanke School of Public Health (SPH) was newly established on April 2nd, 2020 in the midst of the global COVID-19 pandemic. The establishment of the school is a historic move of Tsinghua University to actively undertake its mission in response to the global development trend and national major needs. It is also a timely disciplinary response to major global public health issues.
Highlights
— Based on the principles of comprehensive, international and high-end, the school will give full play to the comprehensive advantages of Tsinghua University, promote the new culture of multi-disciplinary collaboration and innovation and perform the new mode of cross-departmental training of students. It will actively participate in the synergetic development of life science, medicine and public health in the University. Meanwhile, it will explore new ways of industry-university cooperation, and timely translate scientific research into policies and services, strive to build itself into a world-class modern public health school.
— The school will focus on the four core disciplines as preventive medicine, one health, big data and public health policy and management. It will perform scientific research, talents nurturing and community service through collaborations with health administrative agencies, disease prevention and control institutions and organizations, medical institutions, health and health emergency response institutions, one health industry and the general public. The school will focus on the cultivation of high-level graduate students, meanwhile provide a variety of training programs for professionals in public health.
