Overview

Tsinghua School of Architecture, established in 1946 by the renowned architectural scholar Liang Sicheng, is one of the earliest architectural schools in China and has undergone development of seventy-five years. Guided by LiangSicheng’s“theory of physicalenvironment”and then WuLiangyong’s“theory of science of humansettlements”, which won the State Science and Technology Top Award, Tsinghua SA has been widely recognized as an academic leader in the field of architecture in China and an institute with high worldwide reputation as well.

In its over half acentury’sdevelopment, Tsinghua SA has maintained its distinct characteristics and advantages in professional training, academic research, theoretical development, design practice and international cooperation.

Tsinghua University’s Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) and Master of Architecture (M.Arch) are accredited through China’s National Board of Architectural Accreditation (NBAA) and are listed among the accredited programs recognized under the Canberra Accord, supporting the international recognition and portability of architectural education credentials.

Established in 2008 as China’s first English-taught Master of Architecture program, the English Program for Master in Architecture (EPMA) achieved its highest position of 5th worldwide in the 2021 BAM Ranking of Best Architecture Master’s Programs. In every BAM edition, EPMA has placed within the global top ten and as the highest-ranked program in Asia, most recently ranking 8th worldwide in 2024.
